Penn State Cancer Institute and Mount Nittany Health announce an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished medical oncologist to serve as Medical Director for Cancer Care Partnership (CCP), a non-profit joint venture that provides state-of-the-art, personalized care in outpatient hematology, medical oncology and infusion services. CCP is an office-based Hematology-Oncology practice jointly owned by Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Cancer Care Partnership occupies 7,000 square feet of dedicated space within the Lance and Ellen Shaner Cancer Pavilion on the campus of Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, Pennsylvania. CCP patients benefit from the combined resources and expertise of Mount Nittany Health, the community's trusted healthcare provider, and Penn State Hershey, the region's academic health center. Mount Nittany Medical Center is a 260-bed acute care facility offering state of the art medical, diagnostic, and community services to help patients reach their healthiest potential. CCP delivers care directly to Hematology and Oncology patients, and also provides injections and infusions to these patients. Annually, the CCP currently provides approximately 7,600 physician visits; 5,300 infusions; and 2,300 injections.
Reporting to the CCP Board of Directors and the Medical Director of the Penn State Cancer Institute, the Medical Director will maintain responsibility for the clinical operations of CCP, with direct supervision and oversight of physicians within the practice. The Medical Director will build the outpatient hematology and medical oncology expertise of CCP, develop and enhance patient care programs and resources, and expand clinical trial activities. He or she will align a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, radiation oncologists, and other clinical and non-clinical team care team members in order to attain the highest level of clinical quality and evidence-based cancer medicine standards.
The Medical Director will be employed by Penn State Hershey Medical Center and receive a faculty appointment to the Division of Hematology Oncology commensurate with experience. Candidates for this position will be highly-respected medical oncologists with a track record of accomplishments in clinical care, education and clinical research. Candidates will possess a dynamic and collaborative leadership style, excellent organizational and communication skills, programmatic development abilities and talent aligning all stakeholders to a common vision and goal. Candidates will be double boarded medical oncology and hematology and be eligible for an unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license.
